Es el séptimo Premios Primetime Emmy, se llevaron a cabo el 7 de marzo de 1955 en honor a los mejores de la televisión del año. La ceremonia se celebró en el "Moulin Rouge Nightclub" en Hollywood, California . La ceremonia, organizada por Steve Allen y transmitido por la NBC , fue la primera ceremonia de los Premios Emmy, que será televisado a nivel nacional.
